Our Growth:
The name "Malbrit" has been around for many years, beginning in 1946 when two men from Wausau decided to go into the heating business. Their names were Mr. Malry and Mr. Britton, hence the name "Malbrit" as it was taken from a combination of their two last names. The business was originally located on the corner of Jackson and Second Streets in downtown Wausau, where the Wausau Center Mall now stands.
Malbrit Heating & Cooling, Inc. was purchased in April of 1961 by the new owners, who soon after moved it to a larger building at 302 South 4th Street. The business was located at that address until 1975, when a new 10,000 sq ft building was built at 310 South 4th Street. New buildings and additions added in 2002 & 2009 increased Malbrit's total operating space to over 21,000 sq ft.
